UGIS 2023 Delhi Road Show : New Delhi played host to a momentous roadshow for the Global Investors Summit, resulting in agreements totaling an impressive Rs 19,385 crore in investments. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presided over the event, witnessing the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various investors.

One of the standout achievements of this investment endeavor is the agreement reached with JSW Neo Energy, committing an investment of Rs 15,000 crores. This substantial investment is earmarked for the development of two pumped storage projects, each boasting a capacity of 1500 MW. These projects, situated in Almora, hold great promise and are projected to generate employment opportunities for approximately one thousand individuals over the next five to six years.
Uttarakhand has reason to celebrate a significant victory in terms of attracting investments during this roadshow, which took place at a hotel in New Delhi. In addition to the collaboration with JSW Neo Energy, the state government sealed MoUs worth Rs 4,385 crores with several other companies across diverse sectors, including medical, food processing, electronic manufacturing, hotel management, resort development, wellness, and more. These agreements are poised to generate numerous employment prospects within the state.
To date, agreements worth a total of Rs 40,000 crores have been inked as part of roadshows held in London, Birmingham, and New Delhi. Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that these agreements underscored the triumph of the Global Investors Conference. The investments will also support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, encompassing projects related to the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission, pump storage plants, cement production, training centers, drinking water supply, infrastructure development, and the enhancement of ancient temples in the Kumaon region .
Addressing the issue of migration, CM Dhami emphasized that the primary concern of the state government is to curb the outflow of its residents. He emphasized that migration can be stemmed only through heightened investments within the state and the establishment of industries.

Notable officials present at the event included Secretary Dr. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Industries Vinay Shankar Pandey, Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve, MD SIDCUL Rohit Meena, and Director of JSW Neo Energy Limited, Gyan Badr Kumar.
As per the terms of the MoU with JSW Energy, the company is set to invest Rs 15,000 crores in the establishment of two pumped storage projects, each boasting a capacity of 1500 MW, in Almora. These projects are slated for completion over the next five to six years, with proposed locations in Joskote village and Kurchaun village of Almora. The projects will provide essential services such as drinking water supply, irrigation facilities for agriculture, and employment opportunities for a substantial population.
The previously scheduled visit of the Chief Minister to Singapore and Taiwan on October 5 has been postponed, possibly due to the Central Region Council meeting scheduled for October 7 in Narendranagar, which will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Instead, CM Dhami will host a roadshow in Dubai on October 15.
Regarding the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pithoragarh, CM Dhami expressed excitement, highlighting the deep connection the Prime Minister shares with Uttarakhand. The anticipation for his arrival is akin to a celebration among the people of the state.
