The District Information Office has termed the viral document as fraudulent.
As of now, no order for a holiday has been issued in the district for August 14. The rainfall situation in Uttarakhand shows no signs of abating. Conditions in the mountainous districts are extremely adverse. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert in Uttarakhand until August 16.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in seven districts of the state. An alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in mountainous regions of Uttarakhand until August 16 has been issued. The department has issued a significant alert for Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Champawat districts. An orange alert has been issued for Haridwar district. Additionally, alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Almora, and Bageshwar.
