Bradley Cooper is set to star in and direct the upcoming biopic Maestro, about the life of Leonard Bernstein.

The film has been criticized for Cooper's use of a prosthetic nose, which some say evokes antisemitic stereotypes.

Bernstein's three children have defended Cooper, saying that their father had a "nice, big nose" and that Cooper's decision to use makeup was to amplify his resemblance

The film will also star Carey Mulligan as Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre Bernstein

Maestro will have its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival in October

It will then be screened at the Venice Film Festival next month

The film will have a theatrical release in the USA in November

It will then debut on Netflix in December

The film has been directed by Cooper and written by Cooper and Josh Singer

The film is produced by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Todd Field, and Kristie Macosko Krieger
