Facing Jamshedpur FC at Full Strength Jamshedpur FC, often referred to as the “Men of Steel,” chose not to field their starting eleven in the Durand Cup, leaving East Bengal FC with limited insight into their primary lineup. When asked if this presented a disadvantage, Cuadrat responded, “Certainly, we don’t have extensive information about them because they haven’t participated in any official matches until now. However, this isn’t an excuse; we must prepare and play the match. We need to develop a solid plan and strive for a strong performance to secure our first victory of the season. So, while it presents challenges, it’s not a major issue. We must craft a well-thought-out strategy and put in the effort to overcome our opponents.”
Jordan Elsey and the Search for His Replacement Jordan Elsey made the move to the Indian subcontinent but unfortunately faced a serious injury that sidelined him. Cuadrat discussed their initial efforts to help Elsey adapt to the league and the ongoing quest to find a suitable replacement. He stated, “It’s true that he had a strong start with us. Jordan Elsey’s performance during the Durand Cup was well-received by everyone. However, as I’ve mentioned previously, these situations are part of football, and we must make decisions accordingly. We are actively in pursuit of a replacement, but it’s not a straightforward task due to unique circumstances. We won’t sign a player solely based on our current situation.”
Cuadrat stressed, “The replacement must be a player who enhances our competitiveness and delivers consistent strong performances. Rushing this decision isn’t the right approach, as it will impact the entire season. Therefore, it’s crucial to take our time and reach a consensus. I’m pleased with the club’s support; they’ve endorsed my decisions. We’ve been exploring various options, and the process of finding a replacement for Jordan is underway.”
