This ceremony promised to be a star-studded affair, featuring renowned Bollywood luminaries such as Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shreyas Ghoshal, and Asha Bhosle, gracing the stage. Spectacular fireworks and a mesmerizing laser show were also in the works to mark the commencement of the 2023 World Cup in India.
The grand opening ceremony had been scheduled to commence at 7 PM IST, immediately following the Captains’ Day event at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While the Captains’ Day event remains on the schedule, an official announcement has now confirmed the cancellation of the opening ceremony.
