Nainital Updates : District Magistrate Vandana Singh hosted a meeting on Monday with representatives from various organizations and government officials to solicit input regarding the enhancement and beautification of essential amenities in Nainital. During the meeting, she issued directives to officials to revise the Detailed Project Report (DPR) concerning the beautification of Flats Ground while ensuring that the ground’s intrinsic character remains unaffected.
The meeting, held at the Collectorate auditorium, centered on issues related to the improvement of DSA grounds, the development and beautification of facilities along Thandi Road, and the enhancement of Ramje Road and the primary intersection at Tallital. Participants underscored the historical significance of the DSA ground in Nainital and recommended the formulation of a long-term plan to beautify the area and upgrade sports facilities. In response, the DM instructed the Municipal Executive Officer to furnish data on the present condition of structures within the DSA grounds.

Concerning the enhancement of the Tallital intersection and Ramje Road, it was disclosed that there is a proposal to widen the primary Tallital Danth intersection to alleviate traffic congestion, especially during the tourist season.
The executing agency, ADB, apprised the meeting that a proposal worth Rs 3 crore has been devised for the beautification of Thandi Road, encompassing enhancements like lighting, CCTV installation, and wall painting.
The meeting was attended by District Development Authority Secretary Pankaj Upadhyay, DSA Secretary Anil Gadiya, Municipal Executive Officer Alok Uniyal, President of Mallital Trade Board Kishan Singh Negi, President of Tallital Trade Board Maruti Nandan Sah, alongside other prominent community figures.
