Under the guidance of Chief Minister’s Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand has embarked on a mission to promote international investments in the state. This strategic endeavor includes discussions with prominent companies from France and Spain, along with a scheduled visit to London.

Of particular significance is the involvement of the French Poma Group, renowned for its expertise in the ropeway sector. A substantial meeting with this company is slated to occur in London on September 26, with a primary focus on exploring eco-friendly mobility solutions within Uttarakhand.
The state government’s delegation, led by the Chief Minister, has set out for London on September 25, with the objective of laying the groundwork for major global corporations to consider investment opportunities leading up to the Global Investors Conference. Over the course of September 26, 27, and 28, roadshows and meetings will be conducted, and invitations to the investor conference will be extended.
Preceding the London visit, the Chief Minister has engaged in discussions with two prominent companies from France and Spain, with a specific emphasis on evaluating investment prospects within the tourism sector. The response from these companies has been exceedingly positive.

In addition to these engagements, meetings are also scheduled with other significant industrial entities, including a meeting with WMG Warwick Manufacturing Group in Birmingham on September 27. The tour will also encompass discussions with influential players in the British tourism sector. Furthermore, productive discussions have taken place with the Fira Barcelona Group, which operates the convention center in Spain.
Ongoing negotiations with various other companies and entrepreneurs are underway, including a separate meeting with the University of Birmingham. The University has previously established a Center of Excellence in Telangana, and efforts are underway to encourage the establishment of a similar center in Uttarakhand.
Meetings are also planned with the TVS Norton Group in Birmingham, with the aim of encouraging them to consider investment opportunities within the state. Additionally, separate meetings have been scheduled with the German Embassy and UK-based entrepreneurs.
The “Strong Uttarakhand Mission” has been launched with the primary objective of attracting global investments to Uttarakhand. The overarching goal is to double the state’s SGDP (State Gross Domestic Product) within the next five years, as underscored by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
