Kedarnath Yatra 2023 : After experiencing a temporary lull in the Kedarnath Yatra due to heavy rainfall, the sacred pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham has regained its vigor. With the rain finally subsiding, the number of devotees thronging to the Dham, seeking divine blessings, has steadily surged over the past five days.
During the first week of September, a remarkable count of over 27 thousand pilgrims embarked on their journey to Kedarnath.

Since the commencement of this year’s yatra season and the opening of the temple doors, an astonishing 12 lakh 51 thousand devotees have been fortunate enough to have darshan (sacred viewing) of Baba Kedar.
There is a growing anticipation that the numbers will continue to rise in the days ahead. Kedarnath Dham, revered as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Ashutosh, and perched at a majestic altitude of 11,750 feet above sea level, has rekindled its spiritual splendor after the monsoon hiatus.
Devotees have been streaming into the temple premises since the early hours of each morning, and a substantial congregation also participates in the evening aarti (ritual ceremony).
The sanctum sanctorum of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath temple ensures that all devotees are blessed with darshan. Over the past five days, there has been a steady increase in the flow of pilgrims making their way from Sonprayag to Kedarnath.

This resurgence in the yatra has breathed new life into the markets, resting areas, and pilgrim lodgings of the Kedar Ghati region, with bustling activity witnessed throughout the day.
Business activities have also seen a resurgence, marking a promising trend. Nitin Jamloki, Secretary of the Shri Kedar Dham Hotel Association, and Ramchandra Goswami, President of the Gaurikund Trade Association, have observed that despite the large influx of pilgrims in the initial phase of the yatra, bookings were relatively low.
However, there is a high anticipation that bookings will significantly improve during the second phase of the yatra. Yogendra Singh, CEO of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), underlined that Kedarnath Dham has fully regained its spiritual grandeur, thanks to the increasing yatra.
